Startup Weekend Oulu Autumn 2024 will be held on the weekend of 11 to 13th of October in Business Corner Linnanmaa (Yliopistokatu 9, Oulu).

If you have an idea for a startup, then great! We hope you pitch on Friday. If you don't have an idea, that's okay too. Come and spend the weekend, listen to the ideas being pitched, and see if something strikes your interest! The weekend is all about learning about the startup life and learning from each other. We take good care of you during the weekend. All you need to bring is yourself and your laptop. 

At Startup Weekend we form teams on the first day of the program based on people’s interested. We recommend that you come with friends and choose the idea you want to work on with other participants of the event.

Your ticket gives you access to the weekend-long event, with an opportunity to pitch your idea, receive personalized team mentoring, participate in workshops on validation and pitching. At the event finals you will get a valuable feedback from the our panel of judges and have a chance to win awesome prizes!

Your tickets also covers an awesome Startup Weekend t-shirt, a free co-working space for the team during the weekend, meals, unlimited coffee and some refreshments for the After Party.

We recommend that you arrive on Friday night latest at 18:10 before the final pitches start, so that you get a chance to pitch or listen to other pitches in order to choose the team you'd like to work on through the weekend.

Teams are formed on Friday night so you'll miss an important part of the weekend. Let us know if you're planning on arriving on Saturday morning and we will do the best we can to accommodate you, but do consider passing on your ticket to someone who can attend the entire weekend.

The finals will end around 20:00, feel free to stay for the celebration and the after party. If you need to go, that is okay with us!

There are parking areas in Linnanmaa, and most of them cost 1€ per hour paid through eparking. We'll provide more information on this later.

When buying ticket we will ask you about your food allergies. We can provide gluten-free, lactose-free, and vegan options. Still, you can absolutely bring your own food - just let us know of you will and if you need a refrigerator to store your food in and we will show you where it is. Remember to label your food. :)

Yes! Our venue is accessible - you'll find accessible parking, entry, restrooms, pathways and everything else you'll need. Please contact us if you need any help whatsoever. Looking forward to see you!

We understand that access to childcare can be a major barrier to entrepreneurship. There might be an opportunity with sponsorship to pay for your childcare needs over the weekend (by a provider of your choosing) so let's see what can be done. Please call contact us and let's discuss further.

Yes! All friends and family are welcome to attend final pitches. They can arrive at the location on Sunday at 16:45 and we will register them on place.
